What do you wish people knew about financial planning?

Financial planning, from my standpoint, is more than just budgeting and investing—it’s a holistic approach to shaping a secure and fulfilling future. I wish people understood that it’s not solely about securing your retirement but, importantly, about aligning your financial decisions with your goals at any stage of your life.

If you could give one piece of advice to the Juliette from 10 years ago, what would it be?

I would encourage myself to step out of my comfort zone more often, as growth often comes from facing challenges and exploring new opportunities. I would stress the value of resilience and the understanding that setbacks are not failures but rather stepping stones toward future success. Ultimately, the advice would be to trust the process, stay adaptable, and welcome change.

What’s your weirdest office habit?

I moved to Australia at 18 years old from my home country, Germany, and as a typical German, I like to be prepared but probably over-analyze my potential use of things. That’s why the majority of my desk is always taken up by staplers, sticky note pads, tissues, my water bottle, snacks and much more. Luckily none of my desk neighbours have complained so far.
