Sam completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Development. He spent several years working in housing & homelessness, including for the Queensland Government and a mid-sized NGO where he played a key role in the Brisbane Region COVID-19 Homelessness Response. He’s since made a career change and is now studying to become a financial adviser. He also runs a small DJ & event services company on the side with his brother.

Outside of work Sam loves to surf, run, play golf, and spend time with his partner Emma and puppy Pippa.
What’s your favourite thing about being part of the MWS team?
Everyone takes their work seriously but plenty of fun is had along the way. It’s also really exciting to be part of a growing business stacked with experienced advisers that I can learn from.
What do you wish people knew about financial planning?
That the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, but the next best time is now.

Past job titles have included snowmaker and snow farmer.

Probably Torren Martyn, because he’s such a great surfer and I want to pick his brain on board design.
