Brisbane Financial Advisors With Real Local Knowledge

There’s a difference between a financial adviser who happens to be based in Brisbane and one who genuinely knows this city: its property market, its economy, and the way Brisbane clients think about money and the future.

My Wealth Solutions was founded here. For over 14 years we’ve worked with Brisbane clients at every stage: young professionals in New Farm and Fortitude Valley, families in the southside, high-income earners in the CBD, and pre-retirees in Ashgrove and Clayfield. We know this city, and that shapes the advice we give.

We understand the Brisbane property market: what investment property in SEQ looks like right now, how debt recycling works in the context of a growing Brisbane portfolio, and the particular pressures and opportunities that come with building wealth in this city at this moment. That local knowledge shapes the advice we give.

We’re also recognised for it. Our Brisbane team has won multiple awards including GPS Wealth Practice of the Year, IFA Excellence Awards, and recognition in the AFR Fast 100. These awards reflect advice outcomes, not marketing. Our 4.9 Google rating across 300+ reviews reflects what our Brisbane clients say when they’re asked.

What sets us apart most, though, is our approach: genuinely holistic. We don’t look at your superannuation without considering your investment strategy. We don’t advise on your property without looking at how it connects to your tax position and your retirement timeline. Everything is considered together, because that’s where the real value sits.

How We Work With You

Most people who walk through our Newstead office door come with one of a few things on their mind: a property they want to buy, a retirement timeline they're not sure they're on track for, a super fund they've never properly looked at, or simply a feeling that their money should be working harder than it is. Whatever brings you in, the process is the same.
1
Book a free discovery session Your first step is a complimentary 90-minute meeting at our Newstead office, or online if that suits you better. One of our Brisbane advisers will spend that time understanding your full financial picture: where you are now, what you want your future to look like, and the gap between the two. You'll leave with a clear sense of what we'd recommend and exactly what it would cost. After-hours appointments are available for those who need them.
2
We build your plan Once you choose to move forward, your Brisbane adviser and their support team do the research, run the numbers, and put together a full financial plan tailored to your situation. Every plan is peer-reviewed by two advisers before we present it to you, no single set of eyes, no shortcuts.
3
You meet your full team When your plan is approved, you're introduced to everyone looking after you: your Financial Adviser, your Implementation Officer, and your Review Officer. Together they execute your plan and keep it running.
4
We stay in touch — for the long term Brisbane is a city that moves fast: property values shift, interest rates change, tax rules evolve. We review your plan with you at least once a year, and your adviser is available whenever something comes up in between. Our 95% client retention rate reflects what that long-term relationship looks like in practice.

Any financial adviser in Australia must be registered on ASIC’s Financial Advisers Register. You can search by name at moneysmart.gov.au. My Wealth Solutions operates as a Corporate Authorised Representative (CAR 414145) of GPS Wealth Ltd (AFSL 254544), both publicly verifiable. Beyond licensing, look at Google reviews, check whether fees are disclosed clearly before you sign anything, and notice whether the adviser asks more questions about your situation than they make statements about products.

Having super doesn’t mean your finances are sorted, it just means you have a starting point. Most Australians have super but haven’t considered whether they’re in the right fund, whether their contributions are structured effectively, or how their super fits into a broader retirement plan. A financial adviser looks at what you have and what you need, then builds a strategy that makes it work harder.

How much money should you have before seeing a financial planner?

Life rarely follows the trajectory you mapped out at your first meeting, and it doesn’t need to. When something changes (new job, growing family, property purchase, redundancy, separation), you contact your adviser, we review what’s affected, and we update your strategy. That’s included in your ongoing service, not charged separately. It’s why 95% of our Brisbane clients stay with us long term.
