Gold Coast Financial Planning That Reflects How You Actually Live Here

The Gold Coast isn’t just one market, it’s a dozen. A young family in Pacific Pines has a very different set of financial questions than a business owner in Broadbeach or a retiree in Palm Beach. Financial advice that treats ‘the Gold Coast’ as a single audience tends to miss what makes this region interesting to plan for in the first place.

We’ve worked with Gold Coast clients across the whole spectrum: property investors building portfolios across Robina, high-income earners in Mermaid Beach, tradies and small business owners around Nerang and Ashmore, and retirees deciding between selling or holding property here for the long term. That range shapes how we advise. The costs of a coastal lifestyle are real, such as insurance on a waterfront property, the timing of a purchase in a rising market, plus more. Not partnering with a local Gold Coast financial advisor usually misses the mark in taking into account these coastal costs.

MWS holds a 4.9 Google rating across 300+ reviews, we’re licensed under GPS Wealth Ltd (AFSL 254544), and we’ve won GPS Wealth Practice of the Year. Awards matter less than outcomes, but both track the same thing: advice that works for the client sitting in the room, not the industry average.

What sets our Gold Coast team apart most, though, is our approach: genuinely holistic. We don’t look at your super without considering your investment strategy, and we don’t advise on your property without looking at how it connects to your tax position and your retirement timeline. My Wealth Solutions was built in Brisbane, and South East Queensland has been our home market for over a decade, so the Gold Coast’s financial market is familiar territory.

How We Work With You on the Gold Coast

The clients who reach out to our Bundall office sit right across the spectrum. Some are getting organised for the first time with a super fund they aren’t too familiar with, or a sense that their money should be doing more. Others are further along: an investment property or two, a growing portfolio, and a plan that needs stitching together properly before the next decision. And some are already there having established wealth, complex structures, and a need for advice that keeps pace with what they have built. Whatever your circumstances are, our process starts the same way.
1
Book a free discovery session Your first step is a complimentary 90-minute meeting at our Bundall office, or online if that suits you better. Your Gold Coast adviser will use the time to understand your full financial picture, including verifying what you own, what you owe, what you're earning, and where you want to be in five, ten, and twenty years. You'll leave with a clear view of what we'd recommend and exactly what our fees would look like before you commit to anything. After-hours appointments are available for clients who can't get away during business hours.
2
We build your plan When you decide to move forward, your Gold Coast adviser and their support team do the modelling, run the projections, and put together a full financial plan tailored to your situation. Every plan is peer-reviewed by two advisers before it lands in front of you as we want to make sure we are delivering you the best possible financial plan for your future.
3
You meet the full team Once your plan is approved, you're introduced to the people who'll be running it day-to-day: your Financial Adviser, your Implementation Officer, and your Review Officer. Between them they execute the plan, set up the accounts and structures, and keep everything moving.
4
We stay in touch Life on the Gold Coast doesn't stand still: property markets move, families grow, careers pivot, retirement plans get brought forward or pushed out. We review your plan with you at least once a year, and your adviser is a phone call away in between. Our 95% client retention rate is what that long-term relationship looks like over time.

Frequently asked questions

The Gold Coast has a wider mix of client situations than most cities its size, retirees who’ve moved up from Sydney or Melbourne, tradies and small business owners with strong income but volatile cash flow, property investors with holdings across several suburbs and states, and young families balancing school fees with a mortgage. Financial planning here needs to accommodate that range. Where we spend the most time is usually property strategy (Gold Coast portfolios are often more concentrated than they should be), insurance for coastal risk, and structuring a retirement that keeps the lifestyle you moved here for. It’s less about applying a template and more about knowing which questions to ask first.

Yes, property strategy is one of the most common reasons clients reach out to our Bundall office. That includes buying, structuring finance, debt recycling, deciding whether to hold, refinance, or sell, and integrating a property portfolio with super, tax, and retirement planning. We don’t source properties or act as buyer’s agents. Our job is the financial strategy sitting behind the decision, and how it connects to everything else you’re building. If you’re weighing up your first investment property, our step-by-step guide is a good place to start before your discovery session.

From your first discovery session to receiving your Statement of Advice, expect roughly four to six weeks. It can run longer if your situation is complex (multiple properties, an SMSF, business interests) or if we’re waiting on documents from super funds or existing platforms. The 90-minute discovery is free. After that, if you decide to move forward, we quote the Commitment Fee before any paid work begins, so there are no surprises on cost or timing. See our full fee breakdown for a detailed view of how we’re paid.

No, we work with Gold Coast clients from Coolangatta through to Coomera and into the hinterland, and we meet clients at our Bundall office, online via video, or a combination of both. Many of our long-standing clients don’t come into the office more than once or twice a year. What matters most is that the adviser understands your situation and stays close to it over time.
