Colby Atkinson heads up our Ballina and Gold Coast offices with our partner advisory Essential Wealth & Retirement. Colby has 8 years of experience in providing holistic financial advice. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Majors in Financial Planning and Accounting. He also holds a Certificate IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking.

Colby is a knowledgeable and hardworking adviser that has recently joined the Essential Wealth & Retirement Team based in Gold Coast & Ballina. He enjoys working with everyone from mum and dad investors to high net wealth individuals and everyone in between, including medical professionals.

  • What’s your favourite thing about being part of the MWS team?

    Everyone here is committed and forward thinking. There are no passengers and all staff are working hard towards a common goal; to provide a fantastic service to our clients.

  • What do you wish people knew about financial planning?

    That you do not need to be rich to get started and the earlier you stop procrastinating and take the leap, the better your future will be.

  • If you could give one piece of advice to yourself from 10 years ago, what would it be?

    Be excited for what is to come but appreciate what you have.

  • What's your weirdest office habit?

    I have been working from home pretty much exclusively for the past 3 years, so hard to say really.

    But, I tend to write nearly everything down so people might find that a bit weird?
